Garda Circuit: Salò Celebrates Historic Classic Cars
Salò is set to experience a day of great excitement on Saturday, September 13, when the city becomes the focal point of the Circuito del Garda, an event dedicated to classic cars that celebrates the historic significance of this competition. The Automobile Club Brescia and the Mille Miglia Club Franco Mazzotti will host a regularity race along the renowned “Zette” route, famous for its challenging curves. The event features two distinct activities: in the morning, the classic “Circuito del Garda” will take place, followed by the “Coppa dell’Oltranza” in the afternoon, totaling 48 tests that will capture the attention of enthusiasts.
The Circuito del Garda has a rich history dating back to 1921, when it began involving legendary drivers such as Tazio Nuvolari and Nino Farina. After a hiatus, the race returned in 1948 and continued until 1966, leaving an indelible mark on the local automotive tradition. This year, in addition to the competition, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the cars along the Lungolago of Salò in a “d’Annunzian aesthetic contest,” paying tribute to the cultural and sporting heritage of this iconic event.
