The third edition of GardaLo!, the festival dedicated to Lake Garda, is approaching, set to take place on the weekends of October 5-6 and 12-13, 2024. The event, promoted by the Vittoriale degli Italiani and GardaMusei, is reaffirming its role as an important cultural manifestation for the Lombard shore of the lake, an area traditionally characterized by established tourism but lacking in diverse cultural offerings.
Program for the Third Edition
The festival will kick off at the Anfiteatro del Vittoriale with a lecture by philosopher Umberto Galimberti on October 5 at 9:00 PM. This event will mark the opening of the “Youth” section, curated by Paola Veneto. Admission is free, but prior reservation is required.
The following day, Sunday, October 6, will focus on the “Innovation” section. Massimo Canducci, an expert in advanced technologies and innovation management, will lead a discussion aboard the motorship Tonale during its journey from Sirmione to Garda. The topic of the meeting will be “Pieces of the Future: Our Lives with Artificial Intelligence,” addressing crucial issues such as the impact of new technologies on daily life.
Events of the Following Weekends
The second weekend will begin on Saturday, October 12, with the “Show” section, coordinated by Viola Costa. Singer-songwriter Giovanni Truppi, author of the book L’avventura, will be a guest on the motorship Brennero, departing from Salò to Sirmione at 11:29 AM. During this meeting, Truppi will recount a journey he undertook in 2020 along the Italian coasts with a dismantlable piano and a camper.
Sunday, October 13, will conclude the festival with the “Literature” section, curated by Luigi Mascheroni. Writer Alain Elkann will present his novel Il silenzio di Pound aboard the motorship Andromeda/Baldo, departing from Desenzano del Garda at 11:25 AM for Bardolino. This work explores the complex relationship between the artist and his art through the controversial figure of Ezra Pound.

GardaLo! is made possible thanks to the support of the Lombardy Region and the Ministry of Culture. The events are free with reservation, while tickets for the motorship journeys are required and can be purchased at the time of booking on the official event website.
