Recent cultural events in Gargnano have shed light on the local history through a dedicated series titled “Gargnano, its History and Places.” The initiative, organized by the Municipality’s Department of Culture, will take place over four sessions from July 22 to August 12. The talks will be led by Bruno Festa, a former lecturer who has delved into historical archives to connect significant events with locations around Lake Garda. The first two meetings will be held in the courtyard of Palazzo Bettoni Cazzago and in the garden of Palazzo Feltrinelli, while the third event will take place in the small square of Villa. The series will culminate with a focus on the Resistance at Casel dela Tor.
The event aims to explore crucial moments in Italian history during the Italian Social Republic and the Second World War. Among the topics covered will be the role of the RSI in the anti-Jewish persecution and the figure of the partisan Mario Boldini, who was assassinated in 1944. Admission is free, but prior reservation is required due to the limited number of seats available for each evening.
