The bisse regatta will take place in Gargnano on July 5, bringing with it a rich folkloric tradition that dates back to the Venetian rule. This historic competition, also known as the “Flag of the Lake,” has its origins in a contest held in 1548, celebrated in honor of Stefano Tiepolo, and continues to be a central event of the summer lakeside festivities. During the event, crews will participate in parades both on land and in the water, followed by the thrilling races of the traditional standing paddle boats.
The event represents not only a sporting challenge but also a moment of cultural and social gathering for the local community and tourists alike. Gargnano is one of the founding towns of the modern Lega Bisse, established in 1968, and each year it warmly welcomes this celebration that renews the historical identity of the area surrounding the lake.
