A conference dedicated to gender stereotypes will take place on Friday, June 13th at 6:30 PM in the Sala dei Provveditori in Salò. The event, organized by Soroptimist Garda Sud, will center around the theme “Gender Stereotypes: From Social Categorization to Developmental Limitations. What Solutions?” The president of Soroptimist, Elisabetta Bettera, will open the evening, followed by presentations from industry experts. Riccardo Sartori, an associate professor of work and organizational psychology at the University of Verona, will discuss gender stereotypes from childhood to adulthood, while Camilla Federici, an expert in gender studies and diversity & inclusion management, will address systemic disparities in STEM fields.
The meeting aims to raise awareness among participants about the invisible biases that influence everyday behaviors and decisions, providing practical tools to combat discrimination in workplace and social contexts. A particular focus will be placed on the importance of early intervention in preschool age to promote an inclusive culture free of stereotypes.
