The Lombardy Region has recently announced a significant investment of 255 million euros for the renovation of the Desenzano hospital, as part of a broader program that allocates nearly 8 billion euros to regional healthcare between 2025 and 2031. The resolution, approved by the Regional Council at the proposal of the Welfare Commissioner Guido Bertolaso, aims to fund projects for “building replacement” and structural improvements in Lombardy’s healthcare facilities, with a particular focus on technological upgrades and energy efficiency.
Bertolaso emphasized the importance of these funds in strengthening public healthcare, ensuring that citizens receive increasingly accessible and advanced care. Over 4.7 billion euros will be allocated for the replacement of outdated buildings, while another 2.13 billion euros will be dedicated to the redevelopment and safety of facilities. With this ambitious plan, Lombardy reaffirms its position as a leading region in public healthcare investments, aiming for concrete and actionable projects to enhance the healthcare services provided to citizens.
