A hiker suffered from a heat stroke while on Pizzoccolo, at an altitude of 1450 meters, on the afternoon of Saturday, June 28, 2025. The SOREU operational center of the Alps activated the Valle Sabbia Station of the CNSAS – National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps around 1:30 PM, sending three technicians to the scene to provide assistance. The intervention was later supported by the Brescia air rescue team from AREU – Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency.
The Fire Brigade was also involved in the operation, which concluded around 4 PM. Experts recommend exercising particular caution during hikes in the hottest hours, suggesting wearing lightweight and breathable clothing, staying hydrated, and taking breaks in the shade to prevent similar situations.
