Desenzano del Garda is set to host a historical reenactment of the Battle of San Martino on June 21 and 22, 2025, at the Laghetto Park – Oriana Fallaci. This event, organized by the Cultural Association Rievocazione Imperi with the sponsorship of the City of Desenzano and other institutions, will feature over 120 reenactors from across Italy and France. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a historical atmosphere through period uniforms, military encampments, and daily scenes that will recreate the significant battle of 1859, which was crucial for the Unification of Italy.
In addition to the reenactment, the Grand Gala of Italian Unity will also take place on June 21 at the San Martino Monumental Park, featuring performances by artists from La Scala Theatre and Maestro Giorgio Martano. The Councillor for Culture, Pietro Avanzi, emphasized the importance of the event as an opportunity to reflect on national history. Despite adverse weather conditions, the event will proceed as planned, offering a unique experience to all participants.
