Human Trafficking and Prostitution: Mafia Organization Operating in Brescia Dismantled. Recently, law enforcement agencies completed a significant operation that unveiled a criminal network run by a Nigerian mafia organization, active in various locations including Rome, Brescia, and even Iceland. Six individuals were arrested on serious charges including human trafficking, exploitation of prostitution, kidnapping, and extortion. The investigation revealed how this gang lured young Nigerian women to Italy with false job promises, only to force them into prostitution through intimidation and violence.

The victims found the courage to report the abuses they suffered, allowing investigators to piece together the crimes committed by the group known as Maphite. This group employed coded language to plan the trafficking of women, who faced extremely perilous journeys through various African countries before reaching Italy. Once they arrived, these young women lived a true nightmare characterized by deprivation and psychological pressure aimed at breaking any resistance. This intervention represents a decisive step in the fight against international criminal networks that exploit human vulnerability for illicit activities.
