In Volo at Parco Giardino Sigurtà brings a day dedicated to flight, imagination, and lightness to Valeggio sul Mincio on Sunday, October 18. For the first time, the renowned botanical park will host an array of spectacular performances, including magicians, acrobatics, jugglers, stilt walkers, and soap bubble shows, alongside educational workshops for all ages. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday, October 25.
Historic Aviation: The Nieuport 17 and Renault Monasix
Among the highlights of the day are remarkable pieces of aviation history. Visitors will be able to admire a full-scale reproduction of a 1915 Nieuport 17 biplane, alongside a 1929 Renault Monasix, a unique vehicle modified specifically to transport and launch hot air balloons.
Educational Workshops and Aviation History
Two main workshops are dedicated to the world of flight. While younger children can learn to create giant soap bubbles, the Aero Club of Verona Boscomantico Airport will host interactive sessions focused on aviation. Activities include themed crafts, creating hot air balloon-shaped lanterns, radio communication tests, and exploring the history of flight from the first balloons to modern civil aviation.
Tethered Hot Air Balloon Flights
The tethered hot air balloon experience is reserved for children who complete both workshops and receive the necessary stamps on their cards, accompanied by their parents or guardians. For safety reasons, the flight is restricted to children taller than 120 centimeters and adults, excluding pregnant women and individuals with heart conditions. A maximum of 150 spots are available throughout the day, and every participant will receive a flight certificate upon landing.
