The hill road connecting Salò to Serniga, in the municipality of Gardone Riviera, remains closed to traffic due to a landslide that occurred two days ago as a result of bad weather. Restoration works began today, June 6, 2024, with a site visit conducted by a geologist along with technicians and officials from the municipality.
In the afternoon, the operation to clear the private area affected by the landslide began. Only after this phase can the consistency of the soil be assessed and necessary interventions planned to secure the area adjacent to the road. If no significant issues arise, the possibility of reopening the road, at least for alternating one-way traffic, will be evaluated by tomorrow evening.
