In a heartfelt and well-attended ceremony, on Friday, May 24th, the plaque that names the “Polifunctional Center of Via Croce Papale” after Fabio Marinoni was unveiled. In the presence of local authorities, regional councilor Stefano Valdegamberi, Ornella, the widow, and Alberto, the son, numerous citizens of Pacengo gathered to honor the memory of the former municipal administrator.
The event saw a diverse participation: relatives, friends, colleagues, volunteer associations, Alpine troops, and elderly people wanted to pay tribute to Marinoni, who was highly esteemed during his years of service in the municipal council of Lazise. Particularly touching was the presence of the children from the Mater Amabilis kindergarten, to whom Marinoni was deeply connected. The children dedicated a prayer and released colorful balloons into the sky in his honor.
The day began with Andrea Manganotto performing a song by the late Lucio Dalla. Subsequently, Mayor Damiano Bergamini officially opened the celebrations, emotionally remembering his friend and colleague Fabio Marinoni, who passed away in October 2015 due to heart complications.
“Bergamini said, “A man of action and love for his land, Fabio was committed to administrative work like a missionary, always acting for the common good.” The mayor emphasized how the building named today represents a tangible example of Marinoni’s commitment to the community.
Former Mayor Renzo Franceschini also offered a touching memory, defining Marinoni as a “man of unity,” capable of working together to achieve important community results. Franceschini praised the dedication with which Marinoni interpreted his mandate as a service to the community.
Diego Adami, former councilor and close friend of Marinoni, shared personal moments spent together with the deceased administrator. “Fabio was like a brother to me,” Adami said. “We spent whole nights talking and seeking solutions for the good of our community.”
Niece Sabrina Marinoni spoke affectionately of her uncle Fabio: “He had decided to become a municipal administrator and do it well,” she explained. Sabrina thanked the current administration for naming the multifunctional center after her uncle, recognizing it as a vital meeting place for all generations of the community.
Regional councilor Stefano Valdegamberi concluded the speeches by remembering Fabio’s constant commitment in expressing the needs of the territory at the regional level. “He never backed down,” Valdegamberi said. The Veneto Region financially supported him in various public works carried out in Lazise and its fractions.
With this intense and emotional ceremony, Pacengo pays tribute to a man who dedicated himself so much to the common welfare of his beloved land on Lake Garda.
