The Lombardy Region has initiated the development of the Regional Tourist Card, an innovative project aimed at making tourism in Lombardy more competitive and accessible. With the approval of Decree No. 7556 on May 29, Tourism Councillor Barbara Mazzali explained how this initiative is inspired by successful international models such as the New York Pass and the Barcelona Card. The digital platform will integrate experiences, services, and tourist attractions, allowing visitors to easily explore everything that the Lombardy region has to offer.
Among the most anticipated innovations is the enhancement of the Limone Cycle-Pedestrian Path, which will be included in the promotion of food and wine itineraries and outdoor activities available to tourists. The public notice for expressions of interest will be active from June 16 to July 16, 2025, providing an opportunity for interested parties to propose technological solutions to ensure progressive regional coverage. This project represents a significant step towards smart and sustainable tourism, capable of strengthening the connection between local businesses and international visitors.
