The Municipality of Lonato has announced the approval of the executive project for the widening of the provincial road SP25, a 2 million euro initiative funded by the Region. This intervention aims to improve safety and traffic flow on the stretch that connects the capital to the Esenta district, an area characterized by frequent accidents due to the narrow roadway. The works will include adapting the road platform to dimensional standards, reorganizing the intersection with Staffolo and Fossadone streets through a new roundabout, and installing adequate lighting.
The start of the works is scheduled for June 30, 2024, responding to the requests of residents who have long been calling for a radical intervention to ensure greater safety. In recent months, the Province had already introduced temporary measures such as signage to prohibit heavy vehicles from passing and reduce the maximum speed. However, these measures have diverted some of the traffic onto internal roads, causing inconvenience to residents in neighboring areas such as Malocco. Mayor Roberto Tardani expressed satisfaction with the Province’s commitment to improving local traffic.
