The Garda DOC Consortium has recently approved significant amendments to its production regulations, introducing new types of wines, including low-alcohol wines and Cremant, to meet the growing demands of the market. The ministerial decree published on October 8, 2025, represents a strategic step for the denomination, allowing the inclusion of varieties such as Garda Müller Thurgau and Garda Rebo, along with specifications for sparkling and frizzante wines made from indigenous grape varieties like Garganega and Corvina. These innovations not only expand production potential but also strengthen the gastronomic identity of the region. Furthermore, the production area has been extended to include a part of the municipality of Castenedolo, in the province of Brescia. The changes will take effect starting from the 2025/2026 harvest, marking a new chapter for the Garda DOC, which aims to enhance the quality of its wines through a balance of tradition and innovation. With over 250 associated producers, the Consortium is committed to promoting authentic wines that reflect the uniqueness of Lake Garda and its surrounding lands. Italian Version
