The Adige-Garda gallery is currently undergoing maintenance, a process that will continue until March 21. Starting from March 17, annual activities are scheduled to ensure the efficiency of the gallery’s opening mechanisms, which are essential for regulating the flow of the Adige River and releasing some water into the lake. The operations will include the alternating lifting of the sluice gates and mechanical cleaning of the material accumulated in the entrance basin at Mori, with the aim of reducing the “plume” at the gallery’s outlet.
During these operations, which will last between 4 and 5 hours, water mixed with silt and sand will be released into the lake, creating a temporary visible phenomenon that will stabilize quickly. To ensure navigational safety on the lake, all activities will be prohibited within a radius of 200 meters from the gallery’s outlet, with monitoring by the Mountain Basin Service and local security forces. Currently, the lake level is about 135 centimeters above “zero hydrometric” due to recent rains, but the discharge will result in only a negligible rise of approximately 1 millimeter.
