The General Assembly of the Garda Community took place in Mantua on February 1st, at the historic Casa del Mantegna. The event saw the participation of President Mariastella Gelmini, Prefect Roberto Bolognesi, and various local representatives, including Provincial President Carlo Bottani and Deputy Mayor Giovanni Buvoli. During the meeting, Gelmini emphasized the importance of joining forces to promote culture and sustainable development in the region, highlighting the recent memberships of several Mantuan municipalities in the Community. A central theme was the strategic synergy with the Mantuan territory, which integrates into the Mincio River Contract project for sustainable water resource management.
Additionally, an agreement was announced with GardaMusei to develop a cultural festival that will involve the entire Lake region starting in 2026. This event aims to enhance the cultural and artistic heritage of the Garda area and create opportunities for economic growth. Gelmini also discussed the importance of safety on the lake through the commitment of the Coast Guard and mentioned ongoing projects to improve water purification, emphasizing that such initiatives are essential for ensuring sustainable development of the local ecosystem.
