Mobility on Lake Garda: the plan to improve connections is underway. Palazzo Broletto hosted a crucial meeting convened by the Province of Brescia, aimed at discussing issues related to traffic and Lake Garda mobility, particularly following the recent difficulties encountered in Sirmione. Vice President Fabio Rolfi and Councillor Paolo Fontana led a discussion with local administrations, the Garda Community, and trade associations, analyzing the services of Lake Garda public transport and existing infrastructures. During the meeting, statistical data on tourist attendance was presented, highlighting the importance of public mobility in the Garda sub-basin.
Among the announced developments, starting from June 7, there will be enhancements to the LN 026 Brescia-Verona line, with new afternoon and evening services running until 11 PM, as well as an extension of the on-demand service for Sirmione until 10:30 PM on weekends. There was also discussion about the purchase of hybrid boats to improve water transport and the creation of an integrated cycling network. The Province intends to continue this dialogue to develop sustainable solutions that can alleviate road congestion and promote more efficient mobility in the area. The committee will reconvene in the coming weeks to draft a joint document outlining future interventions.
