The public works for the transformation of the square in Moniga have begun decisively, marking an ambitious project valued at 1.6 million euros, fully funded by the municipality. Of this amount, 700,000 euros come from the administrative surplus, while 900,000 euros are sourced from a loan. The intervention involves the pedestrianization of most of Piazza San Martino and a significant reorganization of traffic, with the introduction of a tree-lined avenue reminiscent of the famous Spanish ramblas. The works are expected to be completed by Easter, despite a temporary suspension during the Christmas period.

Mayor Renato Marcoli acknowledged the inconveniences caused by the construction sites but assured that the sacrifices will be rewarded with enhanced livability for both residents and tourists. The current traffic flow will be modified with the creation of a new connection between Via Carlo Alberto and Via XXV Aprile, while work is also underway to renovate the aqueduct. However, some merchants have expressed dissatisfaction regarding the difficulties they are facing due to the closures related to the construction, as is the case with Pier Outlet, which has been forced to remain closed until April due to the impact of the construction on customer traffic.
