A hike on Monte Baldo turned into a critical moment for a foreign tourist who, lacking experience and appropriate clothing, faced adverse weather conditions. Caught off guard by a sudden storm while at the Forcella di Valdritta, the man sought help after becoming stranded at over 2,100 meters above sea level, dressed in summer shoes and unable to navigate the winter-blanketed landscape. The Alpine Rescue teams from Verona and the Ala station responded with 14 rescuers to reach him; however, the initial recovery efforts were hampered by fog.
At around 8:30 PM, a temporary clearing allowed the Trento helicopter ambulance to land and rescue the tourist, who was found in a state of confusion and later transferred to the hospital for evaluation. This incident highlights the importance of safe hiking, emphasizing that proper preparation and equipment are essential for tackling the mountains without risk.
