An important exhibition dedicated to the Treccani Prize will open on Friday, May 2nd at 5 PM in Montichiari, celebrating half a century of contemporary art on the occasion of the centenary of the Istituto per l’Enciclopedia Treccani. This event serves as a significant tribute to a manifestation that has seen 23 editions from 1960 to 2017, involving prominent artists in the national scene. Mayor Marco Togni and Culture Councillor Martina Varone emphasized the cultural importance of the city, historically linked to Count Giovanni Treccani degli Alfieri, whose name has been associated with the prize since its establishment in 1962.
The exhibition will showcase works donated by awarded artists over the years, contributing to a collection of around seventy pieces that reflect the stylistic diversity and artistic evolutions of the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition will be open to the public with free admission on weekends from May 3rd to 25th, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the rich local cultural heritage through the works of renowned artists such as G. Repossi and A. Stagnoli.
