In the afternoon today, a lively and well-attended debate took place between the mayoral candidates of Gardone Riviera in view of the upcoming local elections: Andrea Cipani and Adelio Zeni.
During the debate, the candidates answered several crucial questions regarding the future of the municipality. The questions revolved around urban planning guidelines, planned public works, initiatives for schools and social welfare, support for local businesses, the sewer project, the Garda cycle path, waste separation, tourism and culture, green area maintenance, initiatives for sports associations, and support for families and youth. At the end of the debate, both candidates provided statements regarding their priorities for the potential next term.
Andrea Cipani, the incumbent mayor, is aiming for a fourth term with a program focused on social issues and education. Cipani stated, “Our priorities include paying special attention to the social problems that affect citizens in need, seeking to provide them with the necessary support to improve their quality of life. At the same time, we are committed to carefully addressing all issues related to education, working to ensure quality education and a safe environment for our students.”
His program includes the completion of ongoing projects such as the secondary school and the new library, along with numerous other smaller initiatives. Cipani’s team consists of Luca Bertuetti, Laura Moreni, Enzo Dell’Orto, Elena Berardinelli, Giovanna Renica, Giulio De Toni, Eleonora Zanetti, Marco Bignotti, Giorgia Girardi, Giovanni Pelizzari, Marta Sandrini, and Gianmarco Biemmi.
Adelio Zeni, a 73-year-old architect, presents a program that focuses on the reorganization of the town and collaboration with supra-municipal institutions to address urgent issues. Zeni stated, “There are issues that need to be addressed urgently, such as the reorganization and cleaning of the town, the reordering of green areas, which can and should be done immediately. Then, considering the territorial planning of the municipality in conjunction with other institutions, including the Mountain Community and the Lombardy Region, for all those issues and problems that need to be solved with other municipalities, which are supra-municipal, such as the cycle path and the state road, which is a major problem that needs to be resolved, and the issue of wastewater treatment.”
Zeni’s team includes Stefano Visconti, Ubaldo Bresciani, Damiano Calderan, Mauro Castellani, Alessandro Cipani, Annalaura Franchini, Luca Nedrotti, Monica Rovida, Giovanni Scudeletti, and Albano Storari. The program includes the care of the territory, small maintenance works, and administrative transparency.
