A **23-year-old** man has been reported by the **Postal Police** for a case of **online sexual extortion** that took place in the **Alto Mantovano** area. The situation came to light when a citizen contacted the authorities, reporting that he had been a victim of blackmail on a popular social media platform. After initiating a conversation with a profile that appeared to be female, the man shared intimate images and videos, which were subsequently used by the extortionist to threaten him with the dissemination of the material unless he paid.
Following three payments totaling 1,000 euros, the Postal Police launched an investigation under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Mantova, leading to a search of the suspect’s residence. The young man has since been reported while at liberty. Law enforcement agencies urge all social media users to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal content with strangers, recommending that any attempts at extortion be reported promptly.
