From March 17 to 21, Nago Torbole will host the periodic maneuver to verify the functionality of the opening devices of the Adige-Garda tunnel, which will also include routine maintenance operations. The Mountain Basin Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento has announced that these activities will take place over five days and will involve the opening and closing of the sluice gates, along with discharge tests and calibration. During these operations, navigation and other activities on the lake will be prohibited within a radius of 200 meters from the tunnel’s outlet.

The Secretary General of the Garda Community, Lucio Ceresa, reassured the public by stating that these are routine maneuvers without any alarms or critical issues. He also emphasized the importance of completing the operations as quickly as possible to ensure the hydraulic and environmental protection of the lake’s waters. The average flow rate of the discharged water will be approximately 25 m³/s, with a maximum of 100 m³/s, resulting in a limited amount of water mixed with silt and sand being introduced into the lake.
