Recently, in Lonato del Garda, the NO PFAS Brescia Network was established, an initiative aimed at combating environmental pollution caused by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals.” These chemical compounds, used in various everyday products, have been at the center of a public debate that will culminate in an informational evening on November 7, 2025 at the Abbey of Maguzzano. The event will feature experts in the field, including Dr. Giuseppe Ungherese and Claudio Lupo, with the goal of raising awareness among the population about the risks associated with PFAS and the measures to be taken to protect public health. The NO PFAS Brescia Network has launched a campaign to monitor drinking water in approximately thirty municipalities in the area, highlighting the presence of PFAS even though levels remain within the limits set by Italian regulations. The promoters of the initiative emphasize the importance of active citizen participation in the fight against these toxic substances and in influencing the decisions of relevant authorities. Through events like the one on November 7, the aim is to raise awareness about the significance of environmental protection and the health of future generations. Italian Version
