Polo 0-6 years in Riva del Garda: ahead of schedule for a cutting-edge environment

Work on the construction of the 0-6 years center in Sant’Alessandro, Riva del Garda, is progressing rapidly and the aim is to complete the building two months ahead of schedule. This is an integrated system of education and instruction for children aged 0 to 6, aimed at ensuring equal opportunities in the development of their potential.

The project involves the intervention on the “Don Vittorio Pisoni” school in Sant’Alessandro, which houses both the equivalent nursery school and the municipal nursery as separate entities. Financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), this is the first project of its kind in Riva del Garda.

Initially, the work was supposed to be carried out in a single phase during the closure of the building and in the absence of users. However, the lack of adequate spaces to accommodate the entire nursery and preschool service during the works required a reorganization of the construction site. The interventions were therefore divided into multiple phases: some were carried out during the closure periods of the dining and kitchen areas, while others were carried out with the schools open, separating the areas occupied by children and staff from those affected by the works.

This division has resulted in longer times, but so far they have been fully respected. During the inspection, the possibility of completing the work by October 31, instead of by December 31 as planned, emerged. This would allow both schools to move into the new facilities after the Christmas holidays.

The new center will offer the community a state-of-the-art environment for children aged 0 to 6, both in terms of education and energy efficiency. There will be functional spaces, attention to the indoor climate and acoustics, a new bright gymnasium, and a soundproof dining hall. In addition, there will be an increase in available places: the nursery will go from 60 to 78 places and the nursery school from 73 to 98 places.

The total cost of the project amounts to 7,997,000 euros.
