The Desenzano Swimming Pool enters a new phase with the awarding of the contract for its reconstruction and twenty-year management. After a careful evaluation lasting over two months, the Central Purchasing Authority of the Province of Brescia has awarded the tender to the sole bidder, a temporary grouping of companies led by Italimpresa spa. The total value of the concession amounts to 55.836 million euros, with an estimated cost of 13 million for the construction of the pools. Work is expected to commence shortly, with the goal of completing the project by 2027.
The project, designed by Pgs Partners, envisions a smaller facility compared to the current one, but equipped with new features such as a children’s pool and a multifunctional area. A photovoltaic system capable of producing 168 kilowatts will also be installed. The municipality will have to bear significant annual costs related to the leasing and management of the swimming facility, which represents the largest investment ever made in the city’s history. The public-private partnership model aims to mitigate the economic risks associated with the management of swimming facilities.
