The Garda non-profit organization Resilience ETS is preparing to return to Ukraine to provide psychological support to the populations affected by the war. The association is organizing three volunteer missions in Kiev and has started a fundraising campaign to finance the project.
Healing the Wounds of the Soul
Resilience ETS is an association based in Toscolano Maderno that provides psychological support in emergency and development contexts. Founded in 2006, the association has carried out numerous training and counseling missions in countries such as Rwanda, South Sudan, Haiti, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Central African Republic. Resilience ETS volunteers focus on promoting individual, family, and community resilience through training interventions aimed at local staff.
Presence in Ukraine
Resilience ETS has been present in Ukraine since the beginning of the war. Over the years, the association has carried out various training missions for Ukrainian and Polish operators involved in refugee reception. In 2022, Resilience ETS conducted four missions in the border area with Poland, in Chelm, providing training on the basics of psychological first aid in emergencies.
A New Support Project
Now, Resilience ETS is preparing a new mission in Ukraine to provide training support to a Ukrainian NGO that offers free psychological, legal, and social assistance to the population. The project involves three missions to Kiev by two association operators and will focus on emergency psychology, prevention and treatment of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in adults and children, as well as child protection.
Fundraising
To finance the three missions in Ukraine, Resilience ETS has launched a fundraising campaign. The goal is to raise €12,000 to cover the project’s living costs, including travel, insurance, and accommodation. Donations can be made via bank transfer to IBAN IT22T0511654560000000025463, indicating “Ukraine Project” in the payment reason.
