In the afternoon of today, Tuesday the 10th, the Brescia Alpine Rescue team from the Valle Sabbia responded on the Pizzocolo to assist two hikers in difficulty. The SOREU (Regional Emergency Operational Center) of the Alps activated the technicians around 2:00 PM after receiving reports indicating that the two individuals, along with a dog, were stranded on the mountain’s climbing ridge at an altitude of about one thousand meters.
A team of four experts from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS) reached the hikers, confirming that they were fatigued but not injured. The Fire Department helicopter also arrived at the scene: one of the individuals was escorted down the mountain by the rescue teams, while the other, along with the dog, was evacuated by helicopter.
