The revamp of the child and adolescent neuropsychiatry department at the Spedali Civili in Brescia was officially inaugurated on the National Day for the Promotion of Neuroscience Development, May 11. The project, titled “The Hospital I Wish For,” is the result of a lengthy process of listening and creativity initiated by architect Emanuela Tura and master Attilio Plodari, with the active participation of young patients who helped shape the appearance of the new spaces. The renovated areas are characterized by vibrant and welcoming colors, designed to promote the psychological well-being of children.
The project received financial support from the Santa Lucia BiancoBlu Association and the Rotary Club Brescia Veronica Gambara, demonstrating how collaboration among institutions, associations, and the community can lead to significant changes in the lives of young people. The new areas also include a collective installation called “I AM HERE,” symbolizing community and sharing, representing an important step towards a hospital that is more attentive to the emotional needs of its patients.
