A humanitarian initiative will take place in Riva del Garda on July 27 to raise public awareness about the crisis in Gaza, where the situation is dire due to hunger and violence. The municipalities of Alto Garda and Ledro, including Riva del Garda, Arco, and Dro, have joined the appeal “Gaza is dying of hunger: let us break the silence,” promoted by a group of intellectuals. The event will begin at 9:45 PM in Piazza Cavour, then proceed to Piazza Tre Novembre, where bells will ring in protest against the global indifference towards the humanitarian tragedy affecting the Strip.
During the demonstration, participants are encouraged to make noise with any instrument or object that produces sound, following the call to break the silence surrounding the ongoing events. The mobilization also aims to urge the Italian government to take action for an immediate ceasefire and to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the region. The invitation is extended to all citizens to actively participate with symbolic gestures, thus helping to give a voice to those suffering in Gaza.
