Riva del Garda, Youth Projects Drive Care for Shared Public Spaces

In Riva del Garda, the 2026 summer works of the youth project “Ci sto? Affare fatica” brought cleaning and maintenance activities to several public areas, involving teenagers, tutors and volunteers in interventions for the upkeep of common goods.

The programme ran across the entire summer to allow more young people to participate alongside other commitments. Teams worked at the Parco della Rocca, the gardens in the Porta orientale area, Giardini Verdi, Parco dell’Òra and the Degasperi district. Activities focused mainly on weeding, brushing and repainting benches and fences, supported by volunteers Paolo Grottolo, Fausto Maroni and Enzo Pellegrini, with group coordination led by tutors Arianna Angelini, Martina Calza and Delia Grassi.

The initiative is managed by the association Giovani Arco with support from the municipal worksite. At the end of each week, participants receive “buoni fatica” vouchers to spend at partner shops: €50 for young people and €100 for tutors. Vice mayor Barbara Angelini said the project is an opportunity for young people, families and the wider community, highlighting the value of work carried out in public places.
