Alto Garda: Enhanced Safety in the Tunnels of the Gardesana Occidentale, Minimum Distance Established. An important initiative for road safety has been introduced by Anas in the Alto Garda area. As of yesterday, an ordinance has mandated a minimum safety distance between vehicles in the tunnels of the Statale 45 Bis Gardesana Occidentale, setting limits of 70 meters where the speed limit is 50 kilometers per hour, and 100 meters where the speed limit is 70 kilometers per hour. These measures have been adopted in accordance with the ministerial decree of June 20, 2025, concerning fire safety regulations for road tunnels.
The existing speed limits have been confirmed, with the exception of the San Biagio tunnel in Gavardo, where the limit has been reduced from 90 to 70 kilometers per hour. The necessary signage has been installed, and the new rules are already in effect, aiming to minimize the risk of accidents in light of the characteristics of the tunnels and the existing fire safety systems. Further technical interventions and adjustments to the facilities are planned in the coming months to ensure greater safety for road users.
