During the conference, introduced by Professor Marzio Manenti, Milani emphasized the importance of remembering these individuals not merely as numbers, but as people who fought for their ideals in a context of struggle against neofascist terrorism. The attack, aimed at targeting a demonstration against such ideologies, was described by Milani as a calculated and symbolic act.
Milani spoke about the need for justice and truth that still burdens the families of the victims. Despite some convictions in recent years, such as that of Marco Toffaloni in 2023, there remains a strong demand to understand the motivations behind such a devastating act.
