Scam Calls Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to Hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Middle and Upper Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Fraudulent Calls

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or others unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by someone who,

if they are after money, ceases to show themselves.
