Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazines to Garda Businesses

Pretending to be Carabinieri, scammers contact hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
