Scammers Falsely Claiming Carabinieri Contact Businesses in Garda Area

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal authorities.

Recognizing the scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
