Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Target Garda Region Businesses
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.
How to Recognize Scams
They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
