Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or which have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
