Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armed force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal officers.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
