Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Contacting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
