Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Trick Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police force.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
