Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality.
How to Identify Scams
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
So, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
if they have money, will no longer show themselves.
