Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
