Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when phone contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, tend to disappear entirely.
