Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.
They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or municipal police Authority.
How to recognize scams
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
