Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having obtained money, disappear and do not show up again.
