Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing the Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money, would no longer be visible.
