Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Hospitality

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to their military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri—just dial 112— as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, disappear.
