Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,
